Fresno/Clovis World Team Tennis


  

Teams: players will compete at their own level. Tournament Committee will draft teams.

Scoring: No-ad games. When game score is 40-all, the receiving team or player chooses which court to receive serve. Each game counts as one point in the team's cumulative match score.

Sets: Sets and individual matches are the same and will be 4, 5, or game set based on level. The goal is to finish all levels about the same time to determine overall team winners.
Team Match: a team match is between two teams and consists of singles and doubles, plus an overtime, if necessary. All players must play a minimum of 2 team individual matches or sets.

Players: All players must have participated in one JTC tournament in the past, for proper placement.

Order of Play: Round 1 - 2 doubles; Round 2 - 2 singles; Round 3 - 2 doubles.

Overtime: After both 3rd round doubles sets or matches are finished and the match scores are recorded and totaled, the procedure is as follows.
If the leading team won the final 2 doubles sets or matches the team match is over. 
If the trailing team won one or both 3rd round sets, the match continues by the winners of the trailing team with the same until the leading team wins one game or the total games in the overall team match is tied. at that time the doubles players that were playing that tied the team match will play a 10 pt. tiebreaker to determine the overall team winners.

Captains: Each team will have a team captain (parent or volunteer) and be asked on the day of the event to represent the team. Captains will choose who plays singles and doubles and exchange rosters with opposing team captain.

Coaching is permitted only during change overs as long as it does not enterfere with continuous play. We encourage team members to sit along the court and support their team.
